Van Esch Tertio Jupiter Coat Rack
The Kartell Segmenti Coat Rack was designed by the Italian designer and architect Michele De Lucchi.
De Lucchi was a respected member of the Italian design collective Gruppo Cavart and was one of the founders of the Memphis group that changed the designer scene in the 1980s.
In the Netherlands, De Lucchi's work can be seen in the Groninger Museum, for which he designed a pavilion. With his studio, De Lucchi is still very active in the design world, including with architectural projects such as residential, industrial and cultural buildings and headquarters.
Just like the iconic Umbrella Stand (Gino Colombini) from Kartell, the Segmenti coat rack is a design that has been reduced to the essentials and therefore stands like a house. Segmenti is practical, solid and minimalist. The lower part is also an umbrella holder.
