Thonet S78 Cantilever Chair

The used S78 cantilever chair from Thonet  is modern and elegant. A suitable chair for the meeting room, waiting room or other business space. The seat shell made of molded plywood is connected to the tubular steel frame via the armrests. The armrests, covered with wood, curve backwards and are connected to the seat shell. The diameter of the steel tube is kept to a minimum, which makes this comfortable chair lightweight and gives an elegant, clear appearance. Since Mart Stam invented the 'Freischwinger' made of steel tubes in the 1930s, the design has been closely associated with Thonet. The Freischwinger construction provides a springy effect that guarantees extra seating comfort. The chair is very suitable as a meeting or conference chair. Can also be used as a dining room chair.

The Thonet S73 and S74 are very similar to the S78, only the S73 and S74 have an open backrest and the S78 a closed backrest.
